My professional interests include oncology, transplant, and pediatrics. I attended The University of Texas at Austin for both my undergraduate career and pharmacy school. I chose to pursue a residency because I am continually seeking knowledge, and I am looking forward to learning from all of the wonderful clinical pharmacists at Ascension Seton! Prakruti Gandhi, PharmDĮmail: was born in Gujarat, India and grew up in Katy, Texas. My clinical interests include internal medicine, cardiology, and infectious diseases. I attended Texas A&M for my undergraduate degree, and while my PharmD is from the University of Texas, I will always root for the Aggies! In my free time, I enjoy snuggling with my two cats, playing board games with friends, trying out new breweries around Austin, and being outdoors. I’m excited to be a resident with Ascension Seton, and I can’t wait to see the impact we will have on our patients and profession.Įmail: was born in Round Rock, TX and have always considered the Austin-area to be home. My hobbies include kayaking, swimming, painting, and true crime TV. I am a mother to two cats, Ollie and Nala, and I enjoy spending time cuddling with them when I can. ![]() PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residents Kayla Blackmon, PharmDĮmail: grew up in the suburbs of North Texas with my twin brother, whom I am proudly one minute older than. Outside of residency I have fun by hiking, going to the gym, trying new restaurants, enjoying all the live music in Austin, and watching football. My favorite parts of this residency so far have been working with so many supportive pharmacists and hanging out with the other Ascension residents after work. I became interested in the pediatric-focused PGY1 at Dell Children’s Medical Center because of the opportunity to complete rotations in many different practice areas at both pediatric and adult hospitals. Currently my professional interests include NICU, general pediatrics, transplant, and emergency medicine. Pharmacy School: University of Wisconsin-Madison School of PharmacyĮmail: grew up in the Chicago suburbs but I also lived in Miami, FL and Madison, WI for school before moving to Austin. In my free time, I enjoy practicing aerial silks, rock climbing and exploring new swimming holes in the Austin area. My current practice interests include pediatric and neonatal critical care, nutrition support, infectious diseases and precepting pharmacy students. I am excited to complete my PGY1 in Austin at Dell Children’s Medical Center. Pharmacy School: University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of PharmacyĮmail: was born and raised in Memphis TN and earned by PharmD at the University of TN Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. I was initially drawn to Ascension for the welcoming environment emphasizing evidence-based patient care, and I am excited to continue as a part of the pharmacy team! PGY2 Critical Care Resident Maggie Benton, PharmD After completion of my PGY2, I plan to further my career as an internal medicine clinical specialist. Additionally, I hope to be involved with research throughout my career. Hobbies of mine include playing flute, running, traveling, and discovering the many fun events Austin has to offer! My professional interests include internal medicine and antimicrobial stewardship. In 2015, I moved to Austin with my husband and later attended pharmacy school at the University of Texas at Austin. Pharmacy School: University of Texas at Austin College of PharmacyĮmail: was born and raised in Largo, Florida, and attended the University of South Florida for my undergraduate degree in music performance. While in pharmacy school, I worked as a technician at Dell Seton - I’m excited to be back to continue my training alongside some great people PGY2 Internal Medicine Resident In my free time I enjoy golfing, rock climbing, and video/board games. After pharmacy school I completed my PGY1 at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, just south of downtown Dallas. I graduated from both the Texas A&M School of Public Health and the UT Austin College of Pharmacy, so I sit firmly in the middle of the in-state rivalry.
